Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Principal Auditor interested in becoming part of our Audit Practices - Methodology team. As a member of the Methodology team, the candidate will focus on aligning our audit methodology with the best in the world, board reporting, regulatory management, audit technology, and department-wide improvement initiatives implementing creative solutions to challenging problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the audit methodology update and related enhancement efforts, including conducting research and analysis

  • Design and execute best-in-class operational processes

  • Coordination and execution of key quality assurance reviews, including providing input to planning and testing, as well as identification, development, and documentation of exceptions related to quality assurance reviews

  • Deliver verbal and written communication to the audit teams and audit leadership

  • Leverage available data and analytical tools during execution and delivery

  • Establish and maintain good relations with key stakeholders

  • Facilitate training sessions to new auditors in both small and large group formats

Additionally, as part of the broader Audit Practices team, the candidate will:

  • Provide training and coaching to audit team members during the introduction of new methodology, or as part of quality assurance

  • Work independently under general supervision, and can exercise latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in auditing, at least 3 years of experience in accounting, at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Auditing, Master's Degree in Accounting, Master's Degree in Information Systems or Master of Business Administration

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or a relevant certification

  • 2 years of experience in Banking or in the financial services industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Auditor

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
